A neighbourhood in the South-East of the city, adjacent to Kreuzberg, sharing borders with Alt-Treptow, Plänterwald and Tempelhof
Schönlein Straße, Hermann Platz
Treptower Park, Sonnenallee, S+U Neukölln
Neukölln is one of the most exciting parts of Berlin. The district has been trendy for years - known for late nights, international parties, culture and pubs. Stretching between the vast Tempelhofer Feld all the way to Plänterwald, Neukölln or Rixdorf as it was called up until 1912, is full of wonderful surprises and has something to offer for all interests. Below are some points of interest scattered across the different Kieze of Neukölln!
First thing's first...coffee, of course!
Imo this is the
best coffee in Berlin and is definitely worth a visit for the
coffee enthusiasts. Roasted right there in the back of the shop,
the coffee always tastes amazing and has that tang!
A great
spot in Reuterkiez to spend an afternoon people watching
overlooking the Landwehrkanal.
Another great cafe along the Landwehrkanal with a large comfy
terrace that stays sunny into the afternoon!
La Maison serve up some great coffees, baked goods, sandwiches and
even cocktails. Make sure to try the almond croissant, it is
addictively tasty and worth the queue but get there early, they
sell out fast!
A combo of natural wine and music! The guys stock delicious wines,
play great records and host funky events! The staff are super
knowledgeable and friendly and the dimmed lights keep you there
for hours into the evening.
It is also a shop, so you can buy your fav wine right there!
A huge park with a lot going on. Here you can rent a boat, watch a
movie, listen to aspiring musicians, enjoy a dance or just chill
by the Spree.
Insel der Jugend buried quite deep inside in the park hosts some
great summer evening events and has a beach bar, perfect for
watching the sunset.
Located along Maybachufer Straße that stretches along the
Landwehrkanal, this a weekend market where creatives of Berlin
come together to display their handywork.
The market is
divided into sections: fabrics, design, handicrafts, art, food.
You will find a wide variety of goods here locally made with love.
If you are a fan of Berlin's vintage cinemas, you will definitely enjoy a trip to the Passage Kino. Here, you can find a mixture of art house, current Hollywood productions and European film art on the screen. Film festival screenings also take place here. The large spaces and arched windows will transport you to the bigger days of Cinema.
Located between the areas of Schiller and Reuter Kieze, this is a roof-top bar at the last level of the Neukölln Arcaden shopping mall. You must enter through the car park at the top floor but the maze to get there is worth it! One of the best places in the city to watch the sunset with great music and performance artists.
Outdoor cinemas are everyone's favourite summer activity, no more words necessary! Hasenheide also hosts a Comedy Night during Summers in an intimate atmosphere, which feels more like a group of friends.
